Free* video identification from our external service provider (Swisscom) allows you to prove your identity quickly, easily and securely by video call. This means you no longer need to submit a certified hard copy of an identification document. A Swisscom call center agent checks and confirms the authenticity of your identification document online using the latest technology. The service is available during the following hours: Mon. – Sat., 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. (Central European Time).

A terminal device with video capability with a microphone and camera (e.g. laptop or tablet) and an Internet connection. If you use an Apple device, for example an iPhone or iPad, the special Videoident app from Swisscom is required.
The following browsers support video identification:

- Google Chrome, version 21 or higher
- Opera, version 7.014.021 or higher
- Safari, version 7 or higher
Tell the Swisscom call center agent your process number. He or she can then identify you using the camera function and your official identification document, and guide you through the video identification process.
Completing video identification
Once your identity has been successfully verified, you will receive an SMS with a single-use password (TAN) to complete video identification. When you enter the TAN, the data for video identification (e.g. a photograph of your identification document, a recording of the video call) is automatically sent to Swisscard over an encrypted, secure connection and you do not need to take any further steps.
