Certified copy of identification documents

You can identify yourself easily and securely using Swisscom’s video identification. You no longer need to submit a certified copy of your identification documents. A call center agent will check your ID in a free video call and confirm its authenticity.

You can have your identity confirmed in a video call from Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

What you need for video identification:

  • A valid official identification document (passport or ID). Do you have a foreign identification document? Check whether it is permitted for video identification.
  • An end device with video capability, microphone (laptop, tablet or smartphone) and an Internet connection 
  • A cell phone to receive the single-use password (TAN) by SMS

Video identification in three steps

Step 1: Personal details

Enter your personal details according to the identification document you want to use for identification. Make a note of the process number you receive once you have entered your data. You will need this in step 2.

Step 2: Video identification

Tell the Swisscom call center agent your process number. They will guide you through the video identification step by step and identify you unequivocally with your official identification documents and the camera.

Step 3: Completion

Once your identity has been verified, you will receive an SMS with a single-use password (TAN) to complete the video identification. As soon as you have entered the password, the data is sent securely to Swisscard via an encrypted connection.
